Yes it is, but I have one question, if the layer is smaller or bigger than the canvas what do you want to do with it, scale it or trim it? And your script is taking care for the canvas to be divided by 4 where? On the SO or in the main document? Maybe you can share the modifications you have made to the script so I can help you better with the layer stuff ...
